Weeknotes for 2021 week 06

Well. What can I tell you? 

It snowed this week. The snow turned to ice. The pond froze over. Spent the week wearing my salopettes and / or onesie. Had a lot of fun running thru the icy mud in my local woods. I've found a trail along a stream that's so much fun. Plus it burns enough energy to keep my weight in check. Talking of which, I've hovering just under 80 kilograms now, which I'm happy with. That's the ideal weight for my height, so I'm not gonna try and lose anymore. 

I'm still reading The Silent Deep: The Royal Navy Submarine Service Since 1945. I do a few pages most nights, but it's now competing with this week's Economist magazine. It has an excellent article on the search for life both in and outside or solar system. Unfortunately you'll need a subscription to read the full article. 

It mentions the Habitable Exoplanets Catalog (HEC) of which the current top contender is Teegarden's Star b which is 12 light years away. The closest contender is Proxima Cen b at only 4.2 light years away. The Plantary Habitability Laboratory at the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo maintains a list of the exoplanets that are likely to have a rocky composition and maintain surface liquid water.
